Here is a classic storage bench which employs solid wood. Traditionally built of pine, benches like these are often made of oak these days. The hinged seat provides ample chest storage below for muddy boots, blankets, etc.. The decorative back slats, together with the scrolled top and bottom rails and ends, add the necessary elements for an authentic reproduction of Early American styling. The scrolling of the back stretcher, the side frames, and the spindles can all be easily altered for a different appearance.

This is a blueprint style plan which is heralded by beginners and experts alike as being a pleasure to work from because all parts are printed in full size -- all joinery is shown in actual size, curved workpieces are all in full size, therefore you can measure and trace straight from the drawing if necessary.
