It's simple to cut and simple to paint. As you can see, there are no difficult cuts with the hand held jigsaw -- the lines are all very smooth and flowing. All you need is some 1/2" plywood, a bit of 80 grit sandpaper to knock off any rough edges, a hand held electric jigsaw, and some transfer paper to get the figures traced onto the wood for painting.

The paint by numbers style of the patterns makes this project fool proof for anyone. Only a few colors are required, but you could certainly make it more elaborate if you desire. A thick, permanent black marker is the best thing to use for the inside detail lines of the clothes and faces. It's a 2/3's lifesize project you can finish in one weekend.

You get full size patterns for all figures pictured here. The wise men stand 58" tall and are 29" wide. Joseph is 36" tall and 26" wide. Mary is 34" tall and 24" wide. The manger with Baby Jesus and the little lamb is 16" tall and 22" wide. All characters are easily seen from afar, but naturally flood lights improve visibility and appearance.

You will receive large sheets of paper with FULL SIZE patterns for easy tracing onto wood. We do, again, recommend Tranfer Paper due to the inside lines/detail.
